Good news...

The Radiation Oncologist just called us with the results a few minutes ago.

The primary source turns out to be a small tumor found in one of his right tonsils, one of several that were removed. Did not remove all the cancer though, obviously. But the doctor was very pleased with the results as it will make radiation targeting "much more favorable."

This is good news. ❤❤❤

And it means they are ready to prepare the mask he will need to wear during the treatments and get another CT scan - which is now scheduled for tomorrow following the initial chemo consultation.

In between appointments, Biff has to shave off the beard...!!! Been quite some time since he's had to be fully shaved. We already got new hair clippers in anticipation of the moment (thanks Mom/D'Ann💋), knew it was coming.

I'm looking forward to seeing those amazing dimples better. He is pretty freaked out about it... Poor guy. He likes his beard so much.

We were also advised that the dental department will be calling us about exactly what dental work now needs to be done before the Radiation treatment starts. So we have that to look forward to. 🥴

Otherwise, his recovery is going well post surgery. He still has pain in his throat sometimes, but he only needs the pain meds once, maybe twice, a day.

So, we are as ready as we can be for the next step. Long way still to go, but I am relieved to know we have a specific target for the radiation treatment!

Yep, this is going to be a rough time, and it's scary, but we are both committed to doing everything we can to beat this thing. We will ...
